A Perfect Fall Weekend in Warwick: 48 Hours, Local's Edition
Apple cider donuts, the village antique loop, Bellvale Farms ice cream, and a sunset hike most tourists miss. Here's how I send buyers visiting from the city.
Overview
Apple cider donuts, the village antique loop, Bellvale Farms ice cream, and a sunset hike most tourists miss. Here's how I send buyers visiting from the city.
Friday evening
Get in by 5pm and head straight to the Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery for a tasting flight on the patio. Stay for sunset — the view across the orchards is unreal in October. Dinner: Yesterdays for old-school comfort food, or Iron Forge Inn if you want the date-night version.
Saturday morning
8:00am — Coffee at Newhard's in the village. Grab a corner table. 9:00am — Walk the village antique loop. Hidden Treasures and Frazzleberries are the must-stops. 11:30am — Drive 8 minutes to Applewood Orchards for u-pick. Skip the line at the donut window if it's busy and try Pennings Farm instead.
Saturday afternoon
Lunch at The Grange — locally sourced, beautiful patio. Then head to Bellvale Farms Creamery at the top of the mountain. Order the black raspberry. Bring layers — the wind cuts. The hike most people miss From Bellvale, drive 12 minutes to the Appalachian Trail trailhead at Lakes Road. The 2-mile loop to Cat Rocks gives you a 360° view of the Warwick Valley with almost no crowds.
Saturday evening
Dinner at Eddie's (call ahead). Then a nightcap at Drowned Lands Brewery — the converted warehouse space is one of the best rooms in the county.
Sunday
Brunch at The Hidden Café, then walk through the Warwick Farmers Market (Sundays, May–November). Take the back roads home through Sugar Loaf — the artisan village makes a perfect last stop.
Why I share this list
A huge percentage of my buyers fall in love with Warwick on weekends like this one. If that's you, I'm happy to be the local guide — and the agent who helps you find the house when you're ready.
